The deal recently reached between Greece and the Eurogroup, suggests EU policy fights still lie ahead
The ongoing debate on Greek debt may provoke a strange déjà-vu feeling, recalling the uncertainty and the anxiety of the worst time of the crisis in 2011-2012. Luckily, many things have changed since then. One of the actors that contributed the most to this change was the ECB. The famous moment when Mario Draghi declared he was ready to do “whatever it takes” to save the euro was indeed a turning point in the crisis.
Over one month ago, on 22th January, another important decision was taken by the ECB. On that day Draghi launched the new bond-buying program and now Europe has its own version of Quantitative Easing, like the US and Japan before. It has been long-awaited news, and good news, especially that the size of the securities-buying program went beyond analysts' expectations: €60bn-a-month and a €1.1trillion estimated total amount.

Il 14 febbraio Brando Benifei è a Roma per la conferenza "Come cambia il mondo", organizzata dal Dipartimento per la politica estera ed europea e dal Dipartimento formazione del PD in collaborazione con il Gruppo PD alla Camera dei Deputati.
L'iniziativa si propone come un momento di riflessione, approfondimento e formazione sui diversi scenari globali e sulla proiezione internazionale dell'Italia. Oggi appare sempre più importante ragionare del ruolo del nostro Paese in Europa e dell’Europa nei confronti delle nuove potenze e blocchi regionali, in un mondo che sta cambiando profondamente le proprie coordinate e i propri punti di riferimento.

il 29 gennaio a Bruxelles, presso il Parlamento Europeo, Brando Benifei apre "#Media4EU, InterActiv Europe 2014-2019".
L'incontro, organizzato dalla Fondazione EurActiv, ha come tema centrale il contributo che i media possono offrire al progetto di integrazione europea.
